Women in Technology (WIT) Thought Leader – Darnisha Grant Harrison | Atlanta Daybook

30 Aug Women in Technology (WIT) Thought Leader – Darnisha Grant Harrison | Atlanta Daybook

This Week’s Women in Technology Thought Leader:
Darnisha Grant Harrison

Despite the odds being stacked against them, women founders are currently excelling in the technology sector. With 50% less access to funding and with only 7% of venture capitalist money supporting their products, women who are financed typically perform 63% better than their male counterparts.

Darnisha Grant Harrison is one of the first African American women in the world to be the Founder, President & CEO of a biopharmaceutical company. In this role she’s responsible for guiding the strategic direction and growth of Ennaid Therapeutics, based in Alpharetta, GA.

Once a Microbiologist and Chemist, Darnisha is a nationally recognized science entrepreneur with 22-plus years of experience in the Life Sciences. Prior to founding Ennaid Therapeutics in 2012, she spent 3-years as a scientist at Amgen and the University of Georgia, and 16-years in Business Development/Licensing as a Director for various pharmaceutical companies, notably: Penwest/JRS Pharma; Metrics, Inc; Banner Pharmacaps and Norwich Pharmaceuticals.

My commitment to STEM runs deeply because the most exhilarating feeling in the world to me is to find early-stage, innovative science and develop it into therapeutic cures that can be beneficial to the well-being of humans and animals—safely and fast (bench to bedside safely and fast). My commitment to Women in Technology runs just as deeply because I want people of every gender to remain inspired by my journey and truly understand that making a global impact in Science-STEM has infinite possibilities.”
– Darnisha Grant Harrison
